24The traction tariff for Indian Railways (IR) as consumer in various states ranges from %u20b96.3 per unit to %u20b911.70 per unit whereas the tariff with direct supply through generators ranges from %u20b93.5 to %u20b96 per unit.For the procurement of power through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power for procurement by distribution licensee are being followed.REMC Ltd. has been mandated by the Ministry of Railways to procure economical power on long, medium or short term basis as a deemed licensee. REMC Ltd. has successfully carried out procurement of 1200 MW of conventional power on medium term basis through competitive bidding for IR and has also managed 1700 MW power allocated to IR by the Ministry of Power & DVC. Further, standalone renewable power of 156.4 MW has been tied up based on competitive bidding whereas 900 MW standalone renewable power has been tied up mutually. In addition to the above, agreement for 400 MW Solar power is in the pipeline.REMC Ltd. also initiated the procurement of Renewable Energy on Round The Clock (RE-RTC) basis and has awarded 1500 MW of quantum to Renewable Project developers.REMC Ltd. has also set up a 26 MW Wind power plant at Jaisalmer which is supplying power to Zonal Railways and has also facilitated IR in setting up Rooftop Solar Power Projects in railway areas across the country.Procuring Power, Efficiency,and Savings
